The Caro Tigers attended the 2023 Independent Swim Conference Championships this weekend. The ISC’s is a two day meet with the prelims being held Friday night and finals on Saturday night. The Tigers started the competition out strong with many PR’s during the prelims and the highlight of the evening was Wyatt Sutton taking first in the 100 backstroke, breaking the school record and qualifying for the State Meet with a time of 59.10. Competition continued onto Saturday finals with most of the team going in with PR’s. All swimmers finished the competition with a PR on Friday or Saturday and multiple events coming within milliseconds of achieving records. The Caro Tigers hosted the Essexville-Garber Dukes on Tuesday.  The Tigers and Dukes always have a great time competing against each other and there's a lot of competition.  Points were traded back and forth, but in the end the Dukes finished with the win.  The final score Caro 78, Essexville Garber 98.   Along with all the exciting swimming, senior night was held to recognize the Tiger seniors.   The Tigers seniors are.. Tuesday the Caro Tigers traveled north to Oscoda Owl country.  The Owls always hold a great meet, and we were looking forward to being there.   With only 9 swimmers the Tigers are unable to fill every event.  Resulting in many unchallenged points for Owls.  Knowing that did not slow the Tigers down.   Saturday the Caro Tigers attended the Tri-Cities Championship Meet.  The meet was an all day event starting at 8:00 am and finishing around 7:00 pm, and was held at the SVSU Gerstacker Regional Aquatics Center. Teams in attendance were Alma, Bay City Central, Bay City Western, Caro, Essexville Garber, John Glenn, Midland High, Midland Dow, Saginaw Heritage.  This was a great opportunity for the Tigers to compete in the pool where their finals will be held at the end of the season.  As well as swim against some schools not in the ISC league.  Sawyer Ross tied a Heritage swimmer in the prelims for the 50 Freestyle.  A swim off event was held between the two swimmers to see who would swim in the final event that afternoon.   Tuesday 1-10-23 the Tigers traveled to Chesaning Union Schools to swim against the Indians. This was the first meet back from winter break.  The Tigers were ready to swim, and they swam well. Thursday December 15th the Tigers traveled to Garber High School to swim against the Dukes. The Tigers have been fighting to stay healthy over the past 2 weeks. Fortunately we were able to have 9 swimmers attend the meet. Overall the Tigers had great swims. Only the 2nd second meet of the season the Tigers are starting to find the form in the water. The final score Garber 102 Caro 69.
