CAPAC HIGH SCHOOL: 4
The Tigers had to come back and give it all at home against the visitors from CPAC in front of their crowd.
First half started with CPAC players setting the tone with their amazing passing skills and triangular positions to support each other. The CARO team had to adjust to this new tempo to compete with this visiting talented team. The hosts could not contain the CAPAC forward machine and the aggressiveness thanks to their intimidating size and skills. Again, poor marking and not winning the battle to win the ball, the visitors managed to score 3 goals during the first half. The coach had to rearrange the players positions especially after losing Captain, Senior and center forward Pierce to an injury.
Surprisingly, the Tigers responded very well to their coach's instructions and encouragements by delivering a much better second half by limiting the opponents to only 1 goal. The Caro team created at least 5 clear chances to score but could not capitalize to reduce the score gap. CPAC players were very intimidating with their size. The coach reminded his players that playing smart together with speed and skills can overcome and compensate for the size of the players.
The MVP trophy was presented to Sophomore and center midfielder Marik Phillips who worked really hard to contain the opponents and limit the damage. He was instructed to hold various positions on the field including center midfield, stopper and sweeper.
The coach is very confident that this young team with 1 Senior, 4 Juniors, 8 Sophomores and 5 Freshmen will be improve and become very competitive.
After both games, the refs and coaches from the other teams complemented the CARO Tigers team for their great performance and mentioned that the future is bright for these young players.
Next game will be at home in Caro hosting the Lakers at 5:30 pm.
