The Caro Tigers did not have any idea what to expect from the hosting soccer crew members from Garber on this much cooler evening as compared to previous game days..The coaches knew that this Garber team already beat Frankenmuth 2-1 but did not disclose it to the players prior to the game. Instead, the coaches instructed the visiting Tigers to stick to their game plan by observing disciplined behavior no matter how rough would the game be. Fair enough, the first 20 minutes, the Caro players played an exemplary defensive and marking game as they contained the talented Garber forward players. Unfortunately, one of the talented Garber player was allowed to shoot the ball right outside the box and scored the first goal. The psychological effect started to shake the Caro players as the marking was becoming more and more lacking which allowed again the hosts to score the second goal in the first half. The speeches from both coaches were surprisingly light as they congratulated all players for the amazing first half they gave considering the caliber of the Garber team. Second half started to the favor of the hosts as a handball by one of the Caro defenders allowed the ref to whistle for a Penalty Kick (PK) which was converted to a third goal. From there on, it was really downhill as the Garber gained the momentum to even control the game at their rhythm and scored another goal to make it 4-0. At this point, after two of the key defenders from Caro were injured, it was just a matter of time to witness the agony the visitors were enduring faced to the dynamic and talented host team. Another PK was called after a handball in the box added another goal to the scoreboard. Although the goalie from Caro was making key saves, he was let down by poor marking of both midfield players and defenders. This mishap allowed again the host team to score the 6th goal for a final score of 6-0. The coaches reminded the players from Caro to pay attention to how the Garber players played as a team and used triangular passing strategy, which is exactly how both these coaches wanted their players to improve on and get to that level. If Garber improved over the years, Caro can do it too!. The MVP award was presented to Aaron Pierce who played an amazing game in all positions assigned to him by the coaches. Next game is away at USA next Wednesday September 12 at 5:00 pm.
