HARBOR BEACH COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL: 3

The Caro Tigers team was visiting Harbor Beach hoping to deliver a better performance than the one this past Monday. First half started with some shaky passes from the visitors which gave the hosts the opportunity to set the tone and dominate the first half by scoring only one goal after three turnovers occurred in the forward, midfield and defense real estates on the Caro side leaving the goalie on his own. The half time speech was focusing on looking for a winning recipe to start preparing for the coming district tournament next week. Everybody agreed that it was a better half than the one on Monday but still needed more effort and ball control. The Tigers were struggling in marking the opponents, therefore allowing Harbor Beach to gain the ball control first and make the plays and outplays them during the whole second half. The second goal was scored on a rebound from the Caro goaltender which was not protected by the Caro defenders at all since two Harbor Beach forward players were able to rush into the Caro goalie to score the goal. Obviously, the visitors were not able to find themselves a solution to this dilemma. Despite the few chances to score on the hosts team with a few minutes left to the game, the Caro team managed to add misery to the agony by being punished with a Penalty Kick (PK) after fouling a player from the host team in the dangerous box. The PK was converted into a goal which made the final score to 0-3 for the Harbor Beach team. There is more work to be done with the Caro players with respect to coming together as a team and start playing a real soccer game. The game MVP award was presented to right midfielder and Sophomore Dylan Bolzman who gave the best effort during the full 80 minutes and played an awesome defensive game and contributed to the offensive squad. Next and last game of the season will be at home in Caro tomorrow night Thursday October 11 at 4:30 pm against Birch Run. Parents/Seniors night will also be featured tomorrow night.
